Tony Wilson Sextet

A major force in our city’s creative music community, bandleader Tony Wilson is unquestionably one of the most original guitar stylists on the Canadian scene. His compositions tap into the whole history of jazz and blues and can shift from a moaning style to hard-core combustion. Wilson leads two different six-piece groups in this Festival. The Sextet features his longtime collaborators and local legends Kevin Elaschuk trumpet, David Say saxophones, Peggy Lee cello, Paul Blaney bass, and Dylan van der Schyff percussion.
