Theres never been a war caused by kindness
Theres never been wound suffered by acceptance and compromise
Theres never been a life taken by the use of an open mind
But it seems like understanding is hard to :ind
I read about a man who suffered for what he believed in
He dreamed about a day that’d bring equality to human kind
Somebody shot the man down, for the thoughts in his mind
What happened to understanding
What about the dream of love
Never did the act of sharing this whole world
Cause humanity to fall
* I just wanna live my life on the bright side
I wanna choose to believe, in the quality of human kind
Because there’s going to be some hard times
Somethings got to push me through the night
I just want to live, I just want to survive this old world
I just want to live, on the bright side
Now we around the world, know the feeling of mistrust
Its been bred throughout the centuries, and human lives
But we’ve got to break this chain if we ever gonna,
Continue as a civilization no
Got to break this chain, or just, deepen the divide
Now maybe theres a heaven up above or on the other side
And maybe theres a god, who knows that we ain’t never gonna understand, or get
along
No we can't conceive to living like the one who calls the shots without the open mind
Cause what about our children, how they gonna survive
What about your brothers and sisters now, you gonna wait for them to change the
tide
* I just wanna live my life on the bright side
I wanna choose to believe, in the quality of human kind
Because there’s going to be some dark times in the :ight, to survive
Cause what if theres no heaven
What if theres no God
What if theres no understanding
What this is all about
*Maybe we could live this life on the bright side
And maybe we could choose to believe, in the in the goodness of human kind
Because there’s going to be some hard times
Somethings got to push us through the night
I just want to live, I just want all of us to survive this old world
I just want to live, and die, on the bright side
