The Makeshift Heroes are Toronto's premier ska/jazz/reggae act. Headed by Yvonne Moir this seven-piece ska/jazz/reggae group blends influences from bands such as the New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, The Slackers, Stan Getz and the Skatalites. The vocals of Ben Fox - (lead singer and guitar)are smooth, energetic and melodic while conveying that fun in their music is the most important priority. All the members have solid musical foundations from a young age playing in various ensembles, teaching and arranging various bands around the Toronto area.
