The Futureheads
One of the most anticipated releases of the year, The Futureheads’ second album follows the band’s incredibly successful 2004 self-titled debut. That record, which went on to sell 250,000 copies and spawned the top ten British hit “Hounds of Love”, introduced the U.K. group in North America, where The Futureheads opened for Franz Ferdinand and headlined two club tours and played the main stage at last year’s Coachella festival. The group, which proved itself to be a live unit of great talent, sold out two nights at London’s Astoria and played outstanding sets at Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds festivals and supported Oasis on their arena tour.
News And Tributes, the group’s smashing new album, presents this forward-thinking-man’s rock band in a new light, with songs like the first single “Skip To The End” that are brash, bold, strong and extremely catchy. With more mature songwriting and an emphasis on the group’s harmonies, News and Tributes fulfills the promise of The Futureheads and sounds the alarm for a rocking new round of North American shows.
