Butcher/Müller/Van der Schyff
British tenor saxophonist John Butcher is an ensemble unto himself, as he makes use of circular breathing, multiple trills, and multiphonics. A highly respected European improviser, he’s worked with Chris Burn, Phil Minton, Derek Bailey, and others. Bassist Torsten Müller and drummer Dylan van der Schyff are two of Canada’s finest improvising musicians who appear in numerous collaborations in the Festival. Thanks to the British Council.
