Planted at the crossroads of roots and soul, Charlie A’Court (Nova Scotia) possesses a mighty voice, fierce guitar work and contemporary songwriting loved by fans across Canada and beyond. His new album “San Palarino” (Oct 2024) is an Americana-driven deep dive into growing older, emotional well-being and the collective weight bearing down on humanity. Features co-writes with some of Canada’s top singer/songwriters - Matt Andersen, Terra Spencer and Colin MacDonald (The Trews). The music draws directly from his influences - Martin Sexton, Melissa Etheridge, Hot House Flowers and Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit.
6X ECMA and 8X Nova Scotia Music Award winner, A’Court has earned awards for Blues, Pop and R&B/Soul Recordings of the Year, and multiple times as Entertainer of the Year. A’Court has also received multiple Maple Blues Award nominations including Male Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year.
High energy, versatile Vancouver singer LJ Mounteney released her sophomore blues inspired album “Mama Danced…!” (2023) produced by Jack Lavin. Featured in her trio are Tim Porter (guitar) and Linda Kidder (bass/ vocals).
LJ Mounteney’s humble musical roots extend from her mother, who studied classical piano and piano accordion, and her Hungarian grandfather, who played 13 instruments, all by ear. Mounteney grew up singing along to her mother’s impressive album collection of country pioneers like Dolly Parton and Hank Williams, rock legends like Login’s & Messina, Ike and TIna Turner and Cream, and Blues icons like Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walters and Muddy Waters.
