JOAN SMITH AND THE JANE DOES - (Toronto, ON)
Joan Smith & the Jane Does are leaving an indelible mark on Canada’s rock scene. Praised by Great Dark Wonder for their "authentic hard rock sound," they’ve quickly earned a place in the alt-rock landscape. Their debut album, “Do Me Some Harm” (October 2023), was mixed by and features guitar from Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures).
Their single, “Pull” made waves as it was featured in the premiere episode of ABC’s ‘Rebel’, a series based on the life of Erin Brockovich, starring Katey Sagal. The Jane Does recently released three new singles in the winter of 2024, and continue to sharpen their touring chops through Canada and the U.S.
THE MERINGUES - (Kingston, ON):
The Meringues are the personification of ragged, unbridled energy, both on stage and in their music. There is more than just random chaos though. There is a focused energy, enveloped around songs that possess catchy, memorable melodies and lyrical sentiments that are bitingly fierce, striking to the core of relationship dysfunction and the prevalence of self-doubt and darkness that exist within so many of us. A Meringues show is must-see, as the band tears through each song, seeming in constant danger of going off the rails.
ECHOES - (Kingston, ON):
Echoes are a five-piece alternative rock band from Kingston, Ontario. The band first started playing together in 2022 and made their on-stage debut at the 2023 Homegrown Music Festival. Echoes' shows feature a mix of original material and recognizable alternative covers.
