Father Funk Bio:
After rapidly emerging as a pivotal figure in the international "Ghetto Funk" movement, Father Funk cultivated a devoted fan base, securing sought-after spots at prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Shambhala (CAN), Boomtown (UK), and Rainbow Serpent (AUS). Beyond his initial success, he continues to evolve, developing a distinctive sonic identity that honours his funky origins while remaining at the forefront of electronic music innovation.
Known for his electrifying DJ sets, fusing elements of Funk, Hip Hop, and Disco with floor-shaking electronic beats, his unique, genre-bending, party-rocking style has gained him a cult following worldwide. Delivered with a mischievous grin and thunderous onstage energy, Father Funk has become synonymous with instantly recognizable original productions and notorious bootlegs that have garnered international acclaim.
Navigating seamlessly across a spectrum of styles and collaborating with a diverse array of artists speaks volumes about his profound passion for music. Father Funk's extensive and varied discography includes collaborations with dubstep heavyweights Boogie T, Dirt Monkey, and SubDocta, as well as fellow funk enthusiasts SoDown, The Floozies, The Sponges, and Slynk. His releases on labels such as Drama Club, 19K, and Wakaan underscore his versatility as a producer.
Anticipation is building for Father Funk's debut US tour with The Floozies, announced alongside his feature on their latest album, "Porty Hord". With a plethora of upcoming releases and collaborations on the horizon, 2024 is poised to be Father Funk's most monumental year yet.
Slynk Bio:
Starting his career in an underground New York inspired café in his original hometown of Brisbane, Australia, to his first International appearance at Shambhala's Fractal Forest, in 2009, continues to refine his skills, experimenting and educating himself and his fans with mash-up productions of classic hip hop, ingrained with rare and funky, rhythmically savvy grooves.
With the overwhelming support and love from the world's most respected funky breaks producers behind him, Slynk's reputation has been growing strong with numerous self-releases and with established labels Westwood Recordings, Jalapeno Records, Goodgroove, and Discocakes just to name a few.
His timeless nu-funk electro-boogie bravado has met the public with overwhelming enthusiasm. His Fractal Forest sets brought his unstoppable Forward Momentum to a new level that not only constitutes his best credentials today but also consecrated his name to the West Coast Funk Nation.
Nothing more than another step in spreading his instant, smile-provoking, supreme '80s-funk-flavored boogie, Slynk is now based in Vancouver, British Columbia to complete his conquering of the New World and, as an Ambassador of Funk.
