Few bands can blend melody, groove and mood like Ross Vegas. Formed in 2002 by frontman Tim Bourchier, the Vancouver-based group has toured extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, and will shortly release their debut album, Flow. Flow meshes resonant vocals, pulsing rhythms, and a soulful ambience. The result is a sound that is cooly grooving with a nice bit of grit around the edges. Ross Vegas's sound touches on a variety of styles, fusing R&B, rock, pop, folk and a puff of reggae.
Local rocker chic Nicola Linde will be opening the night with a bang. Expect to be blown away by her stunning lyrics and powerful voice. Nicola Linde is not the stereotypical female musician. With influences such as Green Day, Nirvana, Holly McNarland and Alanis Morissette, there’s an edge to her writing that keeps her on par with the boys of rock. Band members Jeff Marchi (Drums), Terry Parker (Bass) and Kevin O’Brien (Guitar) are a perfect compliment to Nicola Linde’s songwriting.
Ross Vegas and Nicola Linde will be at Steamers Pub, Thursday July 7th. Doors are at 10.
