Event Description
Winter Wilson are one of the hardest-working duos on the European folk scene. Pre-pandemic, they had toured Australia (twice), New Zealand and Canada. In 2018, they toured the UK with folk-rock icons Fairport Convention.
English-born/ half Irish Dave Wilson is now recognised as one of the UK’s very best contemporary folk songwriters, with his songs sung in folk clubs the world over and covered by such greats as Vin Garbutt. He’s also a fine guitarist, banjo player and singer.
Kip Winter (Scottish) “simply has a voice to die for” (John Roffee, Maverick Magazine). She is equally at home singing contemporary folk, traditional Gaelic songs and blues and also plays piano accordion, flute and guitar.
Together, the couple produce a unique sound, blending truly stunning harmonies with subtle, skillful musicianship. Their songs are beautiful, though often hard-hitting, and are delivered with passion.
