Event Description
Victoria Guitar Society is proud to present an incredible concert event in partnership with Music Without Borders - Orontes Guitarists & Guests. The concert, set to take place on May 28, will feature an evening of heartwarming and soulful guitar music in support of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Syria.
This unique and unforgettable event will showcase the talents of Orontes, a remarkable guitar quartet from Damascus that escaped the ravages of war to call Canada their home. Along with Orontes, several talented Victoria guitarists will take the stage, including Dr. Alexander Dunn, Simon Farintosh, Adrian Chen and Morgan Sheeley, recent winner of The Northwest Guitar Festival.
The concert builds on the success of Syrian Encounter, a moving tribute that was held in Victoria to honour Orontes' journey from Damascus to Canada. Now, they are collaborating with Victoria Guitar Society to give back to those in need in their home country.
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the victims of the earthquake disaster in Syria. This event is a wonderful opportunity for music lovers in Victoria to come together and show their support for a worthy cause.
The event, which is scheduled for May 28 at 1pm, will be held at the Alix Goolden Performance Hall located at the Victoria Conservatory of Music on 907 Pandora Ave. Tickets for the event are priced at $30 for adults, $25 for students, and $20 for VGS members.
