Event Description

The Civic Orchestra of Victoria presents American Perspectives - a concert featuring works by two American composers, Amy Beach and George Gershwin. Beach's Gaelic Symphony was the first symphony composed and published by a woman in America. It debuted in Boston in 1896 to "public and journalistic acclaim." The Civic Orchestra is delighted to bring this work to the Dave Dunnet Theatre stage, alongside selections from Gershwin's more widely known Porgy and Bess.

COVID-19 POLICIES and INFORMATION
Please review prior to purchasing your tickets.

The Civic Orchestra of Victoria will abide by the Public Health Orders in place at the time of our event. Our Covid-19 safety policy includes (but is not limited to) the following rules:
-- All patrons must wear masks at all times including when seated.
-- All patrons must provide proof of being fully vaccinated (2+ doses) along with government issued photo identification upon entering Oak Bay High School.
-- Patrons will be asked to remain seated except to access washroom facilities. There will be no intermission during this 60 minute program.
-- Patrons will be asked to leave an empty seat between parties when sitting in the theatre. The current PHO allows us to use 50% of the capacity of the theatre, so we will be limiting ticket sales to allow spacing between parties for the increased comfort and safety of our patrons. If the PHO changes to allow for 100% capacity, we will still limit tickets to 75% of capacity to allow for spacing between parties.
-- Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell. If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please request a refund or contact us to arrange transferring your ticket to a future concert.
