Event Description

Local musicians Richie Valley and Brian Richardson play “just for fun” every week at
the Honeymoon Bay Open Air Market. The market runs from 10am – 1pm Saturdays.

The duo decided to play three sets every Saturday drawing from popular, jazz, original
and blues music. There is no charge for the easy going live music- although tips are appreciated.

Brian Richardson has just released his “Jazz-O-Matic” EP with five tracks and will have
copies available at the market in CD and flash drive format.

Richie Valley is showcasing “In Search For the Lost Harmonic” and “Butterfly Sunflower” the title track from his forthcoming LP.

You’ll know when you arrive at the Honeymoon Bay market – just look for the general store on the left which is across the street from the market. LuMi Cafe is part of the market and has generously supplied the musicians with food and drink. Their coffee is outstanding and has a hint of coconut.

Gordon Bay Provincial Park and Day Use Area / Beach are just a few minutes down the road where a refreshing swim in Cowichan Lake goes well with a warm weekend Saturday.

The weekly market plans to be open Saturdays right through the Labour Day weekend, and perhaps longer.
