Shakespeare's " The Winter's Tale", directed by Alex Gallacher
Starting August 5, the Evergreen School grounds in Cobble Hill (Watson Road - Different location than former years!) will become the hub of all things theatrical in the valley. This is the tenth year in a row The Shawnigan Players are presenting a full live theatre show with a large cast in colourful costumes under the starry sky.
The Winter's Tale is a story as it would be told in winter, with people sitting by the fireplace. It's about kings, queens, princes and princesses in faraway places and the "magical" things that happened to them.
In typical Shakespeare manner, there are side stories, villains, heroes, funny interludes, there is music and dance and a lot of action.
Whether you have seen a show here before or not, prepare to be wowed by the remarkably profound and touching Winter's Tale, presented in festival atmosphere.
