Literary: Author Readings, Poetry
Meet your inner poet! Join local poet in residence John Edwards in a workshop that is open both to poets and to those who would like to try the art of poetic composition in a supportive weekly seminar. At each meeting, John will give a brief talk about a writing style or method and illustrate this with a poem of his own. Participants will then, if they would like, read a draft of an original work aloud for us to discuss and appreciate. There is no wrong way to make poetry; but the ears of others can be very helpful to create a finished piece. It is not necessary to rhyme; but sometimes this will reinforce the sense. Some topics covered will be: writing metaphorically, writing from personal experience, and writing like somebody else for practice.

Come together on Zoom and explore literary arts, a great workshop for adults and teens!
