Event Description

Hello, Victoria - we're back again and smuttier than ever. After our last two sold out slams, this high energy community storytelling open mic based on real life, real lust, real sex is back on Wednesday, September 11th at the Victoria Event Centre (1415 Broad Street).

The theme for this SMUT SLAM is "LESSONS" - What have you learned? Share your lessons learned in love and lust, reeling revelations, exciting eye openers, AHA moments, delightful divinations, epiphanies or experiences that changed how you see yourself/others in the supportive environment of Smut Slam Victoria.

Created by professional perv Cameryn Moore and hosted by Florence Fatale and KeithSonic, Smut Slam features real-life, first-person sex stories, guest stories from our panel of celebrity judges, and also THE FUCKBUCKET, a convenient and funnily named receptacle for all your anonymous questions and confessions!

RULES: - no notes (this is storytelling) - no costumes or props (this is not theatre) - only five minutes (with a one-minute grace period) AND - the story must be real and have happened to you. Stories often are funny, but we want to encourage people to consider sharing their sad, disturbing, poignant, serious, and/or simple experiences, too.

More detailed guideline list is available at: http://www.camerynmoore.com/2017/02/03/behind-the-smut-slam-guidelines/

We would like to gratefully acknowledge that the territory on which this event takes place is on the traditional, stolen, unceded land of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.

VEC Accessibility:

There are three multi-user, gender-inclusive bathrooms with stalls. One bathroom has a larger stall with its own sink and a grab bar (more details in the ‘Bathrooms’ section).

The Victoria Event Centre currently does not have an operational elevator, and there is one long flight of stairs at the venue entrance. The only way into the VEC is up 27 wood stairs, 11″ deep, 6″ high. There are wooden 2.5” handrails 38” up the wall on each side of the staircase (54” apart, so not graspable on both sides at once). See further details in ‘Getting Inside’ section)

If you would like to attend the event but require assistance with accessing the space, please contact us at [email protected] and VEC staff will do their best to accommodate.
