Kindred spirits come in many different shapes and sizes. For Emily Carr, world-renowned Canadian artist, hers came in the form of a Javanese macaque named "Woo", whom she traded a pet dog and $35 dollars for in 1923. So began 15 years of incredible companionship and love, clearly laid out by local author Grant Hayter-Menzies in "Woo, the Monkey Who Inspired Emily Carr."
Join us in-store at Bolen Books, at 7:00 PM on March 12th, for a reading and discussion with Grant, and hear the tender story of how Emily and Woo came to meet and, quite tragically, separate.
(NOTE: 40% of Grant Hayter-Menzies' royalties will be donated to Story Book Farm.)
