SYNOPSIS
During her family’s move to the suburbs, a sullen young girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits. The film by legendary Japanese director Miyazaki won the 2003 Oscar for best feature animation and is loved throughout the world. This film operates on many different levels – Miyazaki says he “..made the film specifically for 10-year-old girls. That is why it plays so powerfully for adult viewers. Movies made for “everybody” are actually made for nobody in particular..” Japan 2001, animated and dubbed in English (so younger viewers can also enjoy), rated PG.
The proceeds from this screening will go to support the Koksilah Watershed Project!
