Spirited Jazz returns from its 6-month hiatus with the Brent Jarvis Trio. Phases of the Moon is the theme for this vespers, and very appropriate to fall. The last vespers had the largest audience yet; we suggest you come a little early if you like to sit in the front.
Spirited Jazz Evenings are constructed around a theme, which is reinforced and underlined, by the songs chosen and the words spoken. It is led by the musicians and Rev. Shana Lynngood.
Spirited Jazz has a growing following built on the inspired words, Unitarian style, of Rev. Shana Lynngood. Herself a jazz singer and history buff, Reverend Shana creates just a splash of message. Based on the lives and times of the musicians and composers of jazz music performed at each vesper, Lynngood very adeptly weaves inspirational words around a central theme of the music chosen by the featured group.
This style of jazz vespers allows time and space for music to speak to the soul.
