Led by bassist James Calvin “JC” Thompson, BigFate absolutely rips the funk! This hot new Vancouver group’s modern jazz crosses over into R&B while mixing juicy odd-meter grooves, adventurous harmony, and challenging arrangements influenced by Dave Holland, Thundercat, and Snarky Puppy. With Malcolm Aiken trumpet, Dominic Conway tenor sax, Mary Ancheta keys, Daniel Klenner drums.
