Event Description
We are pleased to present an afternoon and evening of jazz big band entertainment! This community-driven festival returns for a pre-summer time slot, bringing together many of the community jazz big bands and jazz orchestras of the Lower Mainland for a day of performances. We look forward to connecting with all our big band friends and fans.
The headliner evening concert at 7:45 PM is $20 (tickets available at http://westcoastjazzinvitational.com, or at the door) and features:
- The Vancouver Groove Orchestra (http://www.vancouvergroove.com) with sizzling Seattle trumpeter Rich Wetzel (http://richwetzel.com) and local legendary bari sax virtuoso Chad Makela (https://capilanou.ca/jazz-studies/bios/Chad-Makela)
- plus opening act by the Mighty Fraser Big Band with local rising star saxophonist David Hodgson (http://davidhodgsonjazz.com)
