Event Description
Valentine's Day is often the time of year where the eyes of many people roll... or roll back into their head. Stores pack themselves with enough pink, red, and hearts to make even cupid vomit a little. Join us February 14th at the Red Room to celebrate your Valentine's Day with an edge. Our War of the Roses acknowledges all the different sides of love from sunshine and puppy dogs to the darkest depths of the heart. Show us where your heart lies this year and rock out to some of your favourite dark and alternative beats on the dance floor. Our DJ team keeps people on the floor from open to the last song and it can be the perfect place to work out some tension... or frustration.
Descent plays a wide variety of alternative music each event and it is influenced heavily by what turns up on our request list. Our War of the Roses party always seems to have some incredibly sexy beats but if you want to hear something specific, give the DJ team a heads up and we'll try to make your dancing fantasies come true.
What to Wear, What to Wear?
Descent Sundays boasts an exclusively nonexistent dress code. "Why?" you ask. Well, it's simple: We want everyone who comes to our events to be comfortable. Jeans and a tshirt? No problem. Full out Goth? Totally acceptable. Punk kid? Rock god? Sk8tr girl? Awesome. Sweet. Wicked. Feel like going all out in some jaw dropping ensemble? You're totally welcome to. Come how you want to. However you're comfortable. Come as you are.... Wait... not in your towel and nothing else... That's something we have to draw the line at unfortunately. If you are looking for some inspiration for your clothing, love and hate represented by red and black will be the theme for the evening. Feel free to dress to impress!
