Event Description
Cheryl Bakke Martin is a multi-disciplinary Artist, Illustrator, Writer and Designer. Described as a “Renaisance Woman” by her creative peers, she has a unique mix of talents and experience that include a wide variety of visual arts, graphic design for web and print, corporate training, coaching and facilitation, designing and leading women’s retreats, and writing and illustration for print and interactive e-guides. For her, creativity is a lifetime passion that began at the age of three when her Dad first taught her to make a pair of lumpy stone earrings. The adventure hasn’t stopped since.
She has painted signs on race cars, hand-lettered thousands of invitations for graduations and weddings, delivered a keynote on emotional intelligence to a Middle Eastern sales team in Istanbul, co-founded a BC arts society and curated a community art gallery, developed and delivered training programs full of creative activities to senior executives and federal and provincial judges across Canada, competed in the World Masters games in Australia along with her women’s soccer team and... of course, she co-authored a book on “Living an Extraordinary Life.”
Her current visual work includes jewelry and accessories in glass, metals and other mixed media, painting and illustration, and graphic design for web and print including logo design and branding, promotional materials for events, DVD covers, and design and publishing of an interactive, magazine-style e-book. Her style is colourful, vibrant and inspirational and has a strong appeal to women.
You can find her most days working on an interesting creative project of some sort in her studio in Cobble Hill, BC
