Peep the news boys and girls. The first official edition of THE UP AND UP is ready and set to go this Thursday September 12TH at Vancouver's FAN CLUB.
Here is what's on THE UP AND UP for ROUND #1! It's our good friend David Morin's Birthday (which alone is plenty of reason to celebrate). David will be gracing the stage and throwing down FIRE like only he can! On top of that, The Soul Hop Committee will be rolling in to FANCLUB for the first time and they are hyped to do so. They have a 10 piece crew on board for this one and a bucket full of new arrangements too. We are also pleased to announce that K-REC will be carving through 45's and Willisist (SHAH DJ'S) will be spinning an old school Hip Hop set. ALL VINYL, NO COMPUTERS ;) Not that there's anything wrong with computers.......
THE UP AND UP is a place for LIVE MUSIC to take deep breathes and VINYL to filter its way in to your air space. Tasteful fusion is the name of the game and we are proud to present an ALL STAR LINEUP that will surely make you sweat (in the right way).

The Soul Hop Committee is an eclectic smorgasbord of sound. The vibes are geared towards GYPSY-JAZZ/TRUE SCHOOL HIP HOP/LATIN/FUNK/FOLK/SOUL/DUB/HOUSE/REGGAE and everything in between! Gypsy Swing, Percussion heavy breakdowns and BIG Bass-lines are always on the menu. You can always expect special guests/featured musicians who will keep you guessing and begging for more. IN CONCLUSION, BRING YOUR DANCING SHOES. THAT IS ALL:)

After years spent honing his craft to critical acclaim in the Vancouver scene and beyond, the 29 year-old neo-soul singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is set to record his debut record. David Morin's music is pure, authentic and from the heart. Self-taught and passionately committed to being a career artist and all that choice entails, he's blessed with the ability to turn strangers into fans. A guitar virtuoso with a knack for making a solo performance sound like an entire band, Morin's riffs bring to mind the licks of blues and funk masters.
