The Knackers are a four-piece Celtic/folk/rock ensemble consisting of acoustic guitars, fiddle, bass and drums. The band enjoys playing upbeat, hard hitting, socially and emotionally conscious music. The Knackers music combines Irish/Scottish and Canadian Traditional influences with strong, original songs and stories from the colorful culture and history of Canadian living.
Their influences include The Pogues, Shane McGowan and The Popes, The Dropkick Murphy’s, The Mahones, the Dubliners, Stomping Tom Connors, The Dreadnoughts, Steve Earl, Christy Moore, Sinead O’Connor, Leonard Cohen, Stan Rogers to name a few.
FiddleStix are a Vancouver duo who have been serving up high energy fiddle music together for over four years.
Cary and Janet perform regularly at Farmer's Markets, cafés, city spots, corporate and private functions. FiddleStix was chosen in February 2010 to represent some of Vancouver's best street music in Translink's Busking Program during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. (read less)
