Event Description
DANIEL WESLEY
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Daniel Wesley, bassist Mark Luongo and drummer Alex Glassford are the Daniel Wesley band. This remarkable trio hails from the Greater Vancouver area in supernatural British Columbia, Canada. The summer of 2007 brought the buzz surrounding them from a steady hum to a definite roar. It began with an enthusiastic rise and Top 5 finish in the Fox Seeds Contest from Vancouver's 1 rock radio station, 99.3 THE FOX. Next came the release of their sophmore album, "Sing + Dance", which produced the outrageously popular first single "Ooo Ohh" - the most requested song of 2007 in the city of Vancouver! Their sound which is reminiscent of beach, roots, reggae and rock has earned them heavy rotation on The Fox and several weeks as the best selling album at Zulu Records. On top of those successes followed seven sold out shows, including one astounding night at the well known Richards on Richards. The culmination came with their headlining the annual Santa Fox Ball at the prestigious Commodore Ballroom, which sold out in a record five minutes! This year will bring more sucess and milestones as they set out with the Canada wide release of their single, touring and riding the wave across the country, down the West coast and overseas.
WIL
In 2001, Wil released Both Hands, an album he "pimped for a good two-and-a-half years" before EMI came calling and took it from clubs into record stores. Both Hands got him nominated for three Western Canadian Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. Wil's sophomore albumembodies all of its charismatic creator's inherent dichotomies—an artistic triumph from a down-to-earth working man; a record purpose-built for the road by a guy who lives in the woods; a solo effort made with a massive cast; complex production resulting in straightforward songs; and archetypal love stories tinged with fear and doubt and, above all, yearning hope.
