Be sure to join Dan and his special guests Said The Whale & James Lamb for the File Under: Music! Records official label release of his "Postcards and Dreaming" CD release at Vancouver's newest venue, The Chapel! With your admission you'll also receive a limited collector's edition EP of demos and live tunes!
DAN MANGAN is a magnetic, vocally ambitious performer who combines thoughtful lyrics and addictive guitar melodies with passion and raw emotion. The graveled sweetness of his weather-beaten voice is immediately recognizable and endearing, superbly supported by a highly talented backing band. Dan's latest CD "Postcards and Daydreaming" is a fluid piece of work with diverse yet complementary grooves, styles and tones. After two hugely successful showcases at Austin's SXSW and The Viper Room in LA, Dan heads abroad to tour the UK and showcase at Brighton's The Great Escape Festival. "This folk singer may only be 23, but he sings with the soul of Woody Guthrie" - NME http://www.danmanganmusic.com
SAID THE WHALE - Influenced by oceans, stars, summer, winter, roadtrips, pretty things, ugly things, good and bad music, Said The Whale is the collective brainchild of Ben Worcester and Tyler Bancroft. http://myspace.com/saidthewhale
JAMES LAMB "captivates his audiences with his sultry melodies, excellent combination of musicians and instruments (Aaron Joyce on Dorbo & Wiesenborn; Richard St. Ogne on Cello, Sarah Ciantar on Accordion & Vocals, Karly Warkentin on vocals). His finger-aerobics style mixed in with the other voices makes the whole experience quite symphonic. The songwriting is peerless and completely catchy and I have been raving about this guy since I have seen him play. Lets hope word of mouth catches on!" - Kristen Cudmore / Left Hip Magazine http://www.myspace.com/jameslamb
