Event Description
. Saturday, July 14th IMU presents ROCK'N'ROLL BBQ! CRYSTAL PISTOL, The FLAIRS, INNERTWYNE & IRREVERENTS @ The Media Club, 695 Cambie . Doors 8pm / $10 - Purchase advance tickets online at imuproductions.com/tix.
CRYSTAL PISTOL - A full-scale epidemic of raw, potent and highly addictive rock 'n' roll, Crystal Pistol are Canada's answer to Velvet Revolver, with songs made of good old heavy rock'n'roll guitar riffs and touches of glam metal. Their followers and converts testify that a CP live show is like being greeted at Eternity's Gate, with earthly existence being blown away in guitar choruses that lift them up on wings. WARNING!!! this band is highly addictive and extremely hazardous to your health!
The FLAIRS are set to take the world by storm with edgy, high energy pop-punk that harkens back to the days of '70s punk and '80s hair metal, sweetly flavoured with honeyed vocals over frayed power chords and frenzied beats. Featuring former members of Tuuli and Bif Naked's band, their latest CD "Shut Up And Drive" skillfully blends youthful spirit and undeniable talent, unleashing thier original sound on an unsuspecting public hungry for living, breathing, punk-coloured hard rock with smart pop sensibilities
INNERTWYNE's combination of South American folk, rock and classical music infused with metal and punk, combusts into a powful and incendiary rock show that is at once captivating and ass-kicking. With 2 albums under their belt, the band is currently supporting their most recent release "TUMACO", recorded and produced with Vic Lavek (Loverboy).
IRREVERENTS - Their guitars, bass, and lyrical prowess combine into a lethal blend of contagious power-pop-rock that explodes with thunder and currently has the band scoring as Top 20 Finalists in CFox's Vancouver Seeds competition! Compared favorably with bands like The Foo Foo Fighters, Queens of Stone Age, Sound Garden and The Red Hot Chillipeppers, the band is influenced By bands like Rage Against Machine, Box Car Racer, Red Hot Chilli peppers, The Stooges & U2.
