PEPPER SANDS have always managed to present their own world of atmospheric, compelling sounds with a passionate approach. Having opened for 54-40, Sleater-Kinney and Matthew Good, the Vancouver quartet comes charging out of the gate with hyperactive tunes, staccato pop bursts and plenty of amped-up frustration. Citizen A's magnetic stage presence demands attention as she weaves an electric, connected web of melody and prose. Guitar giant Jay Slye is well armed to dole out aggressive riffs and ringing tones, sometimes drilling choruses and other times melting phrases with expert ease. DANNY ECHO - As a boy, Danny Echo longed to be in front of an audience playing his tennis racquet. He later discovered an electric guitar, amplifier and band are more effective at getting people's attention. After touring the UK with their previous band The Ryecatchers, Dan and Mark decided not only to keep the fire burning but to stoke it with the energy and excitement that all fans of great rock and roll embrace.
