About

Powell Street Festival Society

The Powell Street Festival Society is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to present the annual Powell Street Festival, a celebration of Japanese Canadian arts, culture and heritage. The Festival is the longest running community event in Vancouver and the largest of its kind in Canada. The Society also presents and co-presents events year-round, including concerts, film screenings, and exhibits by Asian Canadian artists.

Programming focuses on traditional Japanese artforms by community artists and on contemporary, provocative work by professional artists from across Canada, the US and Japan.
