Each season, BV presents four productions, with innovative full-length and one-act ballets, as well as works by world-renowned choreographers (Canadian and foreign). Paul Destrooper expresses his passion for the art by creating original works and collaborating various and arts organizations each season. BV is committed to offer as much live music as it can to its performances. Ballet for the 21st century made in Victoria for all audiences to enjoy.
Ballet Victoria also offers classes through its Conservatory: The Ballet Victoria Conservatory is a non profit school operated by the Ballet Victoria Society. Our school is committed to excellence in dance education, and offers classical ballet training (based on the Vaganova Methodology) for all levels – recreational to professional - as well quality education in tap, jazz and contemporary. The BVC faculty consists of Ballet Victoria’s top professional dancers, all of whom are graduates of professional ballet schools worldwide. Classes are kept small, ensuring each student receives the care, guidance and skills needed to achieve their personal best in a positive and nurturing environment. Since its inception in 2014, the BVC has prepared many young aspiring dancers to dance professionally. Students have had opportunities to perform on the Royal Theatre Stage with the Ballet Victoria Company, dancing to the music of the incredible Victoria Symphony, offering them a unique and educational dance experience.
