East Vancouver's Jakartah is highly acclaimed-(as seen in exclaim!, alt. press, and georgia straight magazine), progressive, noise rock band. Musically, they focuses on blending elements of classic rock riffage similar to the likes of Led Zeppelin and the angular, mathematical intensity of bands such as Botch & These Arms Are Snakes.
Their first release, In The Nervous Lights Of Coincidence, was release 03.04.08 on Torque & Victory Records.
Jakartah has shared the stage with known acts such as These Arms Are Snakes, Akimbo, White Lung, Metz, Ghosts Of Modern Man, Daggermouth, A Textbook Tragedy, Callahan, Taxes, Savannah, Sports, and Our Mercury.
The band has also toured relentlessly and, as stated earlier, have received critical acclaim in the press.
Jakartah's second album "Measure twice, cut once" is set for release late 2011.
