About

Hank Cramer

Hank Cramer is one of the West Coast's favorite folksingers. He is well-known for his rich bass voice, his wry humor, and a wide repertoire of sea shanties, miners' songs, cowboy ballads, and songs of the open road. Born in North Carolina, Hank has traveled the world in many roles -- professional soldier, underground miner, shantyman on a square-rigged sailing ship, and roving bard. His early music influences included the Clancy Brothers, Ian Tyson, Gordon Lightfoot, and the Kingston Trio. Hank has recorded two solo CD's; recorded eight other albums with folk groups such as The Cutters, The Rounders, Dakota, Mortal Coilers, and Victory at Sea; and recorded the sound-track to a Discovery Channel documentary about the age of sail.
