Dianne Reeves
Comfortably settled into her fourth decade as one of the world's most exciting and revered jazz vocalists, Blue Note artist Dianne Reeves continues to tour like a trooper, bringing her unique sense of song to old fans and new converts alike. Blessed with a gorgeous contralto and flawless pitch, Reeves is mostly clearly influenced by Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan. But this eclectic and adventurous singer has always been attracted to idioms as various as R&B, Latin, soul and world music, and composers as divergent as Antonio Carlos Jobim and Leonard Cohen. The only recording artist in any singing category to win three consecutive Grammy awards, Reeves is a bop-to-pop force of nature whose concerts embrace an entire world of music. All music lovers will be catching something very special when they welcome Reeves as she makes her Victoria debut! She'll be appearing with her long-time trio of Peter Martin piano/Musical Director, Reuben Rogers bass and Greg Hutchinson drums.
"Her three-plus, pellucid octaves, diva-like delivery and intimate sense of a song have long made her one of the most compelling vocalists in jazz." - Seattle Times
