About

Chanter la Pomme

After a 10 year hiatus, Alison Gowan and Jan LeClair have reunited to form Chanter la Pomme. Formerly of Swamp Ward Orchestra, Chanter la Pomme transports you to other times and places with dance music originating in 18th century central France. Join in the group dances with easy to learn steps!

Jan has been working and performing in various groups and in Kingston for over 20 years. Jan is currently the Lead Teaching Artist with Sistema Kingston's new school site (supported through a Joe's MILL/Queen's University partnership).

Alison, currently of Lac St Paul region in Quebec, resided in Kingston as a performer and teacher for many years. She returns frequently to Kingston in her Chanter la Pomme collaboration and as musical director for Birdbone Theatre.
