A hard rock quartet from the Fraser Valley, Black Water Falls formed in 2012 with vocalist Aaron Coburn, guitarist, Rick Bring, bassist, Andy Harrison and drummer, Wes Coburn.
It has been a long and difficult journey full of growing pains.
In the fall of 2000, vocalist, Aaron Coburn, and guitarist, Rick Bring, met in high school and discovered a common interest in heavy music, such as Tool, Alice In Chains, NIN and Guns N Roses. With $300 between them, they decided to buy their first guitar and PA, compose songs and form a band.
After several months of composing, the two had a handful of rough songs and now were in need of a drummer and bass player. Aaron’s brother, Wes Coburn, a drummer in various bands at the time, joined the group and the trio began jamming in Aaron’s garage. A year later, vocalist Aaron Coburn parted with the group to pursue other interests. Guitarist, Rick Bring, and drummer, Wes Coburn continued writing and practicing together.
In need of a crucial missing piece, the two of them set out to find a bass player and vocalist. A few months later Rick received a call from an old high school friend, Andy Harrison. Andy, originally a guitarist, decided to try his hand at bass. After months of practicing and bad luck with various vocalists, drummer Wes Coburn decided he would take over vocal duties. A temporary drummer was found.
The quartet adopted the name, “ False Idol”. After several successful performances and winning a local “ Battle of the Bands”, False Idol opened up for Finger Eleven in the summer of 2008. After a few more shows, False Idol once again took a break to pursue other priorities in their lives.
Two years later, guitarist Rick Bring and bassist Andy Harrison formed the band Black Death Scarecrows. After half a dozen shows, tension arose between Rick Bring and the vocalist resulting in Rick and Andy’s departure. With a continued passion for playing and writing music, Rick thought it was a good time to call his original Vocalist and drummer, Aaron and Wes.
After agreeing enough time had passed, the four friends decided to start writing music again and began recording their first full length album at District IV studios in Vancouver, with producer Shawn Penner. With perseverance and dedication this group will meet their goal of providing some quality hard rock music for their fans to enjoy.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
