Delaney Rose

BIOAccomplished singer songwriter, Delaney Rose, is touring behind her debut album titled Freedom
featuring a brilliant compilation of original songs reflecting her strong purpose of healing and is a
wonderful singer/songwriter album, easy on the ear and with many influences.
Much to the delight of her many fans there plans to re-release the Freedom CD in the fall of 2011
with two new songs added plus a rockin’ version of her hit single Freedom.
Born and raised in Manitoba, Canada, Delaney experienced her first love affair with music at the
age of 6 and then the dance began. It started with the exploration in her parent's attic, where she
found a dusty old guitar that had only four strings. That old guitar evolved into her own six string
guitar that no longer collects dust. Delaney discovered songwriting and secretly wrote, at 13, her first
song titled, “I Wish”; a song she kept to herself but inside she knew it wouldn’t be the last.
Newly married and consumed with her adult life, music remained a hidden chapter of her life.
Just after her marriage break up, while performing, she had an epiphany, music needed to be at the
forefront of her life. That very next night, a near fatal car accident found her clinging to her every
breath. From that point on Delaney emerged with a new sound that is hypnotic, breezy, and intensely
personal.
Her new music though has so much more of herself in it. She oozes confidence and conviction
when she rocks out and you can hear the genuine emotion in her voice on the softer material.
Two of her new songs which are at this stage in demo form as she works toward her next album
titled “Naked.” Misty Mountain Blue reflects the spiritual freedom of the mountainous Vancouver
region which she found in her long recovery. Starting with a breathy low register vocal over a
simple acoustic guitar and drum motif, instrumentation builds before breaking into an electric guitar
accompaniment for the uplifting lyric. Goose-bump material if ever there was with a sweet violin at
the end to push home the point.
The other is a gentle refrain Let go. A melancholy ballad with acoustic guitars, organ and bright
percussion which evokes the overcoming of deep sorrow through sleep and time. There is a
message of hope and better times, something of a constant in Delaney’s current songwriting.
Both Misty Mountain Blue and Let Go will be on her upcoming new CD “Naked” to be released in
early 2012.

Delaney Rose is inspiring to hear; her lyrics are hopeful, positive and engaging
as she emphasizes through her melodies that ‘we are never alone’.
On the road, Delaney plays an ever expanding list of venues solo and with her band. She has a
wonderful spirit and will to succeed; everywhere she goes she is acknowledged. Her concerts have a
strong feel of intimacy and connection between Ms. Rose and her fans. Delaney’s contagious smile
and her easy going flow totally expands and excels in front of live audiences.
Everything is summed up best by Delaney with her own Mission statement:

it’s seed started while we were children
as we grew up some of us forgot
some of us took paths of security
while others somehow learnt how to win

but, where are we?
