The Details:
Beyond the Glass: Eastern Ontario Women’s Arts Festival, a grand celebration of the vibrant talents and creativity of women in the arts. Set to take place on July 26 and 27, 2024 at multiple venues in downtown Brockville, including Arts Hub Brockville, St Lawrence Anglican church, St Paul Anglican Church, Engine House Yoga Studio, Sweet Ofelia Cafe and Market, Medium Effort Fine Art Supplies, and more. This extraordinary event is poised to captivate and inspire attendees from near and far.

The festival is set to showcase an array of artistic expressions, including two pop-up galleries, three performance spaces, a dance exhibition, offering a platform to over a multitude of Eastern Ontario’s finest female visual artists, dancers, thespians, performers, comedians, musicians, and bands. Moreover, we are honored to announce that the festival’s headliner will be the esteemed two-time Canadian Folk Music Award winner, Folk Music Ontario Award winner, International Folk Music Award winner, and Juno-nominated artist, Amanda Rheaume.

At the heart of our vision lies a commitment to spotlighting the immense talent of Eastern Ontario’s women in the arts, while simultaneously catalyzing a diverse influx of tourism to downtown Brockville and its surrounding areas.

AMANDA KEELEY
Hailing from the heart of Ontario’s vibrant music scene, has swiftly carved a niche for herself as a spellbinding Indie-Folk artist. Her music, imbued with the raw, emotional depth of a seasoned soul, draws listeners into an intimate world of lyrical storytelling and melodic artistry. Keeley’s voice, often likened to the resonant tones of Sara Bareilles, the heartfelt authenticity of Brandi Carlile, and the haunting melancholy of City and Colour, serves as a bridge between the timeless traditions of folk and the contemporary sensibilities of today’s music aficionados.

MAGGIE MAY HARDER
Maggie May Harder (they/them) is a comedian and creator based on unceded Anishinaabe Algonquin land (so called Ottawa Ontario). Maggie was also a co-producer of the Youth Infringement Festival from 2022-2024. Their biggest project to date is co-creating Small Fish, a comedy and variety show by and for marginalized folks, alongside their best pal, Glenys Marshall. Within Small Fish, Maggie is a producer, host, standup/sketch writer and performer, sponsorship/partnership coordinator, improv teacher, and community organizer.
