The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) is a provincial First Nations-directed Crown Corporation dedicated to Indigenous languages, arts and cultures in British Columbia. FPCC has three areas through which it provides funding, resources and support: Arts, Languages and FirstVoices. We also work to increase understanding, and heighten appreciation of the wealth of knowledge expressed through the diverse First Nations cultures in British Columbia.
FPCC's Arts Program is committed to the vitality of all forms of Indigenous arts in B.C. We support artists working in all disciplines, including the rejuvenation and practice of our classical, traditionally based art forms. These commitments are realized through the delivery of funding through the Aboriginal Arts Development Awards (AADA) program, the provision of a communication network and the delivery of various outreach initiatives including professional practices workshops for Indigenous artists and arts organizations. We also work to develop awareness and value for Indigenous arts and culture through advocacy, education and audience development.
