BC Culture Days Call for Emerging Artist Ambassadors

BC Culture Days Call for Emerging Artist Ambassadors

Posted by: BC Culture Days
BC Culture Days is seeking applications from emerging artists of all disciplines located in B.C. The 2024 BC Culture Days Ambassador Program will provide five artists from across the province with $2,000 ($1,000 production budget and $1,000 artist fee) to plan and host a free community-engaged Culture Days event (between September 20 - October 13, 2024) in their local area. In addition, each artist will be paid ($1,000) to pursue a 3-month mentorship with an established artist of their choice. On behalf of Culture Days, each ambassador will also act as a media spokesperson in their local region leading up to the annual Culture Days celebration.

In the Ambassador Program, you will grow your artistic craft, develop meaningful connections with your community, gain media exposure, and act as an ambassador for arts and culture! Ambassadors will network with fellow participants and BC Culture Days staff through monthly virtual check-ins and periodic workshops (in Event Planning, Accessibility, and Indigenous Relations and Allyship).

Given the importance of regional representation for this program, priority will be given to applicants from outside Metro Vancouver and/or from rural or remote communities. Artists who self-identify as Indigenous, Black, a Person of Colour, disabled, Deaf, hard of hearing, crip, chronically ill, mad, trauma-impacted, neurodivergent, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ are encouraged to apply. *Please note, this is not an exhaustive list of disability and related identities.

Applications close March 4, 2024 at 11:59pm PST.
