Learn how to be bold with your colours & explore new brush techniques! All materials included.

First canvas: Exploring basic colour theory with the use of a colour wheel, students will learn primary, secondary and tertiary colour mixing, analogous colour schemes, complimentary colour schemes and monotone colour schemes. You will also learn the basics of composition using a light source to paint highlights, midtones and shadows.

Second canvas: Students will learn how to create a composition for their second canvas by first using thumbnail sketches and paying attention to positive and negative spaces. We will then be painting en plein air & the class will take advantage of the great outdoors to compose and paint their final work. Different colour schemes will & magenta trees will be encouraged.
