With his move to Victoria he has carved out a musical niche as band leader, sideman, educator and solo artist. Anita Bonkowski has been a professional musician for the past fifteen years after receiving her Masters Degree in Music from the University of Victoria, and her Associate in Jazz Diploma from Malaspina College. In addition to working locally with such musicians as Herb Ellis, Hugh Fraser, Ian McDougall, Oliver Gannon, Fraser MacPherson, Roy Reynolds and Mart Kenney, she has recently worked as a percussionist with such international notables as Johnny Mathis, Englebert Humperdinck, and Moody Blues. What a wild little duo! Live they move from the intimacy you expect of a duo to a surprisingly big sound good, ol' blues, some funky New Orleans grooves, a couple of vintage jazz gems and Gary's original compositions. Enjoy the real deal!
