Kickback comes straight out of the Vancouver Island hard rock scene. Deeply rooted in the heavy music of yesteryears they have developed a gloomy, nihilistic sound consisting of grinding hard rock with textured acoustic numbers. Often mis-interpreted for their balanced portrayal of mainstream sensibility with an underground edge. They remain hard enough for most metal fans, yet their seemingly dark subject matter, sludgy riffs and at times punky attacks places them among most hard rock genres. Heavy guitars dominate the combinations of down tuned attacks while melodic vocals articulate visions on isolation and reparation. Simply put Kickback pays as much attention to melody and songcraft as they do to their crushing guitar riffs. With an intense live shows that engages the audience in a captivating and sonic atmosphere Kickback are staged to make an assault on the music industry.
