Christine A. Allan, has been creating art in one form or another since she won a finger painting contest in Grade two. Art is a passion as well as a refuge for her. She believes in the theraputic aspect of creating art and encourages others to do the same.Her abstracts and figurative pieces are inspired by the environment, colour and artists of the early modern art era. Her work has been exhibited in Japan, USA, Italy, England and Canada. Christine is also available for commissions. A portion of proceeds from Christine's work is donated to various environmental and animal welfare causes.
The Cowichan Valley Regional District is a broad geographic region stretching from the Malahat to North Oyster and from the Cowichan Lake to Thetis Island.
The region's artists are represented by 5 sub-regional arts councils with support from the CVRD Arts and Culture Division
